Great people

Northern Ireland’s reputation as a key European inward investment location is underpinned by the availability and calibre of a highly cost competitive workforce. In other words, we’ve got great people.

Fresh talent

Educated people

The country’s education system has long been recognised as among the best in Europe. Nearly a fifth of public expenditure is spent on education. Two world-class universities and an extensive network of further education colleges provide excellent academic and vocational training.

The system produces very well educated people, with Northern Ireland consistently out-performing all other UK regions in academic qualifications. For example, 71 per cent of Northern Ireland students in 2006 achieved the three top grades in GCSE exams (taken at aged 14-16), compared to 62 per cent in England, and 63 per cent in Wales.

Both universities are responsive to business, creating graduates with skills, competency and acumen in business-relevant areas every year. Over 2,000 people graduate each year with business qualifications in Northern Ireland.

Every year we help firms, from hi-tech start-ups to international industry leaders, discover global growth from Northern Ireland
