Working in partnership
We work with a broad range of organisations to agree strategies and take forward action plans that will have a positive impact on Northern Ireland’s economic development.
These stakeholders include local councils, government departments, economic development organisations, the further and higher education sectors, sector specific and business development organisations, and international connections.
By developing networks and partnerships with like-minded organisations we can use resources more efficiently and increase the provision of expert business services through qualified third parties.
The Government’s aim is to provide holistic support for the development the Northern Ireland economy. Our role in this is to ensure that businesses are aware of, and ready to benefit from, broader economic opportunities.
Third party organisations
Although we provide our support to business mostly through our own teams we also fully, or partly, fund the delivery of programmes and initiatives through third party organisations. Major activities delivered in this way include:
Regional development
We are also involved in supporting initiatives at a regional level. Key initiatives funded in this way are:
- North West Action Plan
- Western Innovation Network
