Competence Centre Programme

Competence Centres are collaborative entities established and led by industry that are resourced by highly-qualified researchers associated with research institutions who are empowered to undertake market focused strategic R&D for the benefit of industry.
Member companies will have a long term commitment to work together as a group, engaging in higher-risk, longer-term research. In return, companies will have early access to the Intellectual Property produced and engage in extended networks of companies and researchers stimulating further collaborations.
Who is eligible?
- Any Northern Ireland based company with an R&D strategy or vision that is open to working with like-minded companies and prepared to collaborate with research performers.
- Other companies that can demonstrate that they will strengthen the consortium and bring technical and economic benefit to Northern Ireland.
- Northern Ireland’s research organisations.
