Our Technical Advisory Unit (TAU) supports business growth by providing specialised guidance on a wide range of technical and environmental issues.

TAU advice and services are free.

The unit is staffed by scientists and engineers equipped to deal with the challenges encountered by businesses today in areas such as:

• intellectual property
• product, process control and development
• engineering and manufacturing issues
• health and safety

The team’s expertise can help you to implement best practice, achieve sustainable development, and solve your technical, energy and environmental problems.

The TAU carries out technical audits to test the health of your business in areas such as:

• energy and environment
• waste management
• effluent treatment
• production and process control
• water usage

If you need information about patents, trademarks intellectual property or industrial standards you can also use the unit’s Technical Information Service. With access to over 2,000 commercial databases this is a unique resource for businesses requiring answers to technical questions in a hurry.
