Living in Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland offers a first class environment for living as well as for doing business.

There’s an excellent education system, a world class healthcare service and all manner of very affordable property.

The country may be renowned for its work ethic, but it places equal emphasis on the friendliness of the people and the quality of life.

With little congestion, inexpensive public transport, and a crime rate less than half of the UK average, there are few obstacles to generating a contented and productive workforce, or encouraging the relocation of key managers.

Leisure and pleasure

You can cross Northern Ireland by car in about two hours – north to south, or east to west – but in between there is a rich variety of scenery, activities, and a host of cultural attractions and leisure opportunities.

Drag yourself away from the office to the great outdoors and you will find dramatic coastlines, castle, mountains, lakes, some of the best golf courses in the world, superb fishing, water sports, walking trails, scenic drives and historical landmarks  – all classes of relaxing or exciting occupations.

Northern Ireland also has many fine restaurants, cinemas, leisure centres and renowned theatres, galleries, arts and entertainment centres and pubs and clubs.

Northern Ireland has been named as one of the "must-see" travel destinations for 2007 in the latest edition of a popular guidebook. Lonely Planet's Bluelist 2007, published yesterday, features the North in its Go List of 30 places deemed to merit a visit in the coming year.

There is always plenty to see and do – after work, of course!
