As well as the financial assistance offered under specific support areas, Invest NI may be able to provide funding towards strategically important or critical activities that will help your business secure its position and grow. Our support in this area is available only to businesses that can show that they intend to sell outside Northern Ireland, are actively pursuing growth plans and will contribute to increasing productivity and innovation in Northern Ireland. What financial support do we offer?

Grants may be available:

• to help your business overcome short-term barriers to growth as a result of difficult economic conditions
• to help your business with short to medium term projects that have a strategic focus on exploiting new markets or new products
• to help your business with medium to long-term projects aimed at increasing turnover and employment
• to help businesses in financially strained conditions that may have to reduce headcount resulting in the loss of key skills.

These grants are typically used to support the cost of:

• key posts
• new employees
• marketing
• capital expenditure.

Equity investment may also be available for early stage companies with high growth potential.

We assess applications for financial support on a case by case basis.

Access to Finance

Through our Access to Finance strategy, we have created five funds totalling more than £100 million to ensure that early stage companies with high growth potential are not held back because they cannot access finance.  It will provide a range of funding to support deals from the start-up level through to development capital.
