Our Environmental Awareness programme is an advisory initiative helping businesses to become aware of environmental issues and improve their environmental performance.

The programme contains a range of measures including:

• An environmental enquiry point providing free advice on legislation, pollution, abatement technology and waste prevention and minimisation. Email the environmental enquiry team, environment@investni.com.
• NI Waste Works - a dedicated online waste resource available through nibusinessinfo.co.uk. The reduce, reuse, recycle section provides information on all aspects of waste management and best practice. Find waste management advice on the nibusinessinfo.co.uk website. Invest NI provides an email alert service on behalf of NI Waste Works to keep you updated with related news and events. Register for waste management updates from NI Waste Works.
• A UK government-funded waste prevention programme - www.envirowise.gov.uk - which includes generic and sector-specific advice. Find advice and support on practical ways to increase profits, minimise waste and reduce environmental impact on the Envirowise website.
• The National Industrial Symbiosis Programme (NISP) facilitates links between different sector industries to improve cross industry resource efficiency by exchanging materials, energy, water, logistics and expertise. The Environmental Awareness programme’s specialist advice also helps make businesses aware of their legal and environmental obligations.
