Our Trade and Marketing Mentor programme offers businesses low-cost access to a panel of exporting mentors.

With a wide range of trade, marketing and exporting experience and expertise behind them our mentors can inform your export decision-making process by producing independent observations and recommendations that:

• identify trade and export marketing issues
• improve competitiveness in these areas
• transfer some of the skills and experience of the mentors to businesses and key individuals
• encourage and facilitate businesses to expand existing markets outside Northern Ireland and enter new export markets

A mentoring ‘assignment’ comprises 40 hours’ support from a registered member of the Invest NI Mentor Database. The support can be delivered face-to-face, by phone or via email.

First assignments under this programme and the Northstar initiative are free-of-charge. Second and subsequent assignments cost £400 (including VAT) with extensions to all assignments charged at £10 per hour and cannot exceed 20 hours.

Who is eligible?

The programme is available to Invest NI clients that have completed our free-of-charge Business Health Check. Support may be available for companies that have not done this, although such companies must undertake a business health check within a specific time period.
