Sectoral Trade Mission
Salone del Gusto is the key event for the Slow Food movement, a ‘non-profit, eco-gastronomic member-supported organization founded in 1989 to counteract fast food and the disappearance of local food traditions’. Salone del Gusto brings together artisan producers from all over the world to showcase traditional, regional and authentic foodstuffs. The show is a cultural and educational event as well as an immense marketplace with aisles or ‘food lanes’ dedicated to products such as cheese, cured meats and olives. Italian produce predominates and there is an extensive programme of Taste workshops and seminars.

Package of assistance

• 50 per cent of economy airfare and up to £100 per night towards accommodation costs (3 nights maximum)
