If you have an idea for a business that will sell its goods or services outside Northern Ireland we can offer you a range of support through our Export Start portfolio.

A comprehensive range of services and initiatives is delivered through our regional office network. This support is focused on innovative local businesses that can demonstrate the potential for substantial export growth.

Supporting high growth businesses

We especially want to support projects where there is a clear market need and commercial opportunity which will result in the creation of a high growth business in Northern Ireland.

Our Export Start support includes:

  • access to experienced Invest NI professionals who help people to develop business ideas and deal with the practicalities of setting up a business
  • financial support such as grants, loans, and equity from Invest NI, or other sources of finance
  • help with market research, competitor intelligence, guidance on legal issues and ICT advice
  • advice about management skills and practical assistance on exploiting new market opportunities
  • help to develop your skills in key areas such as management, sales and marketing
  • help in developing your business through business improvement services, trade and export services, innovation support, and product and process development

This support is also available to businesses that are less than two years old and are already trading.
