Advice and support for entrepreneurs Part funded by European Regional Development Fund

Starting a globally focused business

We want to support innovative local businesses that can demonstrate the potential for global export growth.

Does your business have a product or service that will offer a distinct competitive advantage and be capable of being sold in world markets?  Can you develop a technology that will lead to the creation of unique intellectual property?  Can you clearly demonstrate a market opportunity that will enable you to achieve sales of £1 million within three years, with 30 per cent of that to export markets?

If your answer is yes to each of the above, please contact the Global Start Team.  If your business does not meet the above criteria, please read about our Export Start Programme for export focussed businesses and the Go For It and Growth programmes for locally focused businesses.

For Global Start businesses, our support is both advisory and financial and is provided through a team of professionals who work alongside entrepreneurs with the potential to establish world-class competitive businesses. The support includes:

  • grants and equity;
  • introduction to sources of venture capital and other finance providers;
  • access to global networks and contacts;
  • access to expert knowledge and skills; and
  • access to the full range of Invest NI’s business development solutions.
