Invest NI is once again happy to be delivering the Make Your Mark Challenge for 2010, in association with the Department of Education and Enterprise UK, as part of this year’s Global Entrepreneurship Week, 15-19 November.

This will be the 6th year of the Challenge which is the UK’s largest one-day enterprise competition designed for students aged 14-19 and we are happy to announce that this year we will be including a category for the younger age group of 11-14.

The Make Your Mark Challenge 2009 was a tremendous success, and the overall winners were:

14-16 age group    Christian Brothers Grammar School, Omagh
                             “Thermal Gel Radiators”

16-19 age group    Assumption Grammar School, Ballynahinch
                            "Pure Manure”

Both teams travelled to London for the UK Final on 10 December and Assumption came 3rd overall in their age group – an excellent result!  The students from CBS Omagh gave a very impressive performance and were just pipped at the post for a prize.

The NI winners of the 16-19 year age group were also lucky to win a trip to New York, courtesy of Invest NI and NYSE Euronext, where they spent time in the New York Stock Exchange and met some very influential people.  This trip will be part of the prize for this age group for 2010.

The Make Your Mark Challenge will take place on Monday 15th November and further details will appear on this website as time goes on.
