2007: Runners up - Flexispec (Queens University Belfast)

Bouncing bugs

Claire Sneddon, Jacqueline Erskine, Julia Doherty and Lyndsey Crawford - Queen’s University, Belfast (QUB).

Flexispec’s main product is a vaginal speculum designed for women, by women. Flexispec aims to increase women’s comfort when visiting a doctor by designing a speculum that is of soft texture and is easy to use.

2007 - Merit Award - Bouncing Bugs (University of Ulster)

Flexi Spec

Louise Fleming, Karen Green, Alison Cole, Ruth Forsythe, Gemma Kilpatrick - University of Ulster, Jordanstown.

Bouncing Bugs is a gym especially designed for children between the ages of five and nine. The gym equipment used is suitable for children and also additional activities such as yoga, football and dance are offered. In the future the founders of Bouncing Bug plan to open further gyms in Northern Ireland and later expand their business to the Republic of Ireland.
