Imagine £5,000 for your school and a great learning opportunity along the way!

Advantage NI and Invest NI have teamed up to offer an exciting new programme for Northern Ireland schools designed to promote innovative and entrepreneurial thinking.

Pupils at key stage four had an unique opportunity to compete for a cash prize of £5,000, to be used for a school improvement project, plus an all-expenses paid trip to London for the winning team.

50 schools (10 each from five regions) were selected on a first-come first-served basis to compete in The Big Idea! during which six students and one teacher from each school had the opportunity to learn and develop creative thinking and innovation skills first-hand from creative thinkers and innovators in local industry.

Regional heats were carried out during October and the top two teams in each region progressed to the National Final held in Belfast on November 14 as a centre-piece to Enterprise Week.

Finalist

The overall winners were:

First - Wellington College - The Bully Buzzer

Second - Bloomfield Collegiate School Belfast - Cyberschool
