Armagh firm Trace First broadens its US appeal

Armagh company Trace First is investing £90,000 to help further enhance its US sales pipeline with support from Invest Northern Ireland.

The firm develops software systems which help veterinarians to record animal health information and perform their jobs efficiently. Last year, Trace First secured a multi million pound contract with the United States Department of Agriculture for its innovative CoreOne system.

The CoreOne Animal Health Information system is being rolled out across all 50 US states. The current investment will enable Trace First to build on this competitive market position by enhancing its overall marketing capabilities.

Invest NI has offered Trace First over £33,000 to support the development of an extensive export marketing campaign and the appointment of two new managerial positions.

Mark Bleakney, Manager of Invest NI’s Southern Regional Office, said: “Trace First has worked extensively in recent years to establish an international market presence and its success to date is commendable. This investment will help the company to maintain and grow its profile in the US as well as capitalise on future business opportunities across new markets such as New Zealand, Europe and South America.”

Trace First was recently awarded a certificate of appreciation from the United States Department of Agriculture in recognition of the company’s outstanding service and commitment to excellence for advancing Animal Health Surveillance in the United States.

Trace First co-founder Michael McGrath said: “We are enormously proud of our sales performance outside Northern Ireland to date and feel that enhancing our management team and marketing capabilities will help maximise our revenue across the United States.

“Invest NI’s support with these development plans will be essential as we seek to build on our base of customers and fully realise our export potential.”
