Invest Northern Ireland has helped Kainos Software to save over £750,000 by implementing a programme of efficiency measures.

Belfast-based Kainos Software Ltd provides consultancy services and IT solutions which can help businesses perform more efficiently. With over 20 years experience and consultants in five locations across Great Britain, ROI and Poland, Kainos has grown to become one of Northern Ireland's largest locally owned, high-tech companies.

Assistance from Invest NI helped Kainos Software to evaluate key operational areas and implement changes to increase the competitiveness of the business.

Most of the savings to date have been achieved by making enhancements to the company’s financial management measures. These have improved margins, optimised return and created project delivery efficiencies for the business. Savings from other areas will roll out over time and increase the total achieved from the programme.

Niall Casey, Director of Business Improvement Services at Invest NI, commented: “By embracing a culture of continuous improvement Kainos Software has already far exceeded the initial savings targets.  With the resulting increased capabilities, the company is now in a stronger position from which to realise their ambitions and compete in UK and ROI markets.”

Paul Hamill, of Kainos Software Ltd said: “The efficiencies made to our operations with Invest Northern Ireland’s support have made a significant impact on our bottom line. By implementing continuous improvement we can better manage changes in working practices and incorporate the most appropriate world class techniques to increase competitiveness and our future growth in the marketplace.”
