Twenty-seven Northern Ireland companies are in Dublin to take part in Plan Expo 2002, the biggest construction show in Ireland.

The companies are exhibiting their products and services on the Invest Northern Ireland group stand, which will be the largest stand at the show and will carry the branding ‘Northern Ireland, Constructive Ideas’.

Plan Expo is an important event in the construction industry calendar and in previous years has proved to be an effective showcase for Northern Ireland companies.

The participating Northern Ireland companies come from both the construction and interior design sectors and will be exhibiting a range of products including stairs, doors, furniture, tiles, heating systems, acrylic block windows and cast stone. In addition Commercial Information Company (NI) Ltd, is promoting its planning application website on the group stand.

Twelve of the participants on this year’s Northern Ireland group stand are exhibiting for the first time and are confident that the show will help them break into the Republic of Ireland’s construction market.

Kevin McCann, Director of Enterprise Support, Invest NI, is predicting a successful show for Northern Ireland firms. He said: “Northern Ireland companies have gained a reputation for quality, good customer care and continuing product development. This year four of our companies have entered innovative products in the Product of the Show awards.

“Despite the recent slowdown in the construction industry in Ireland, the ROI market remains important for Northern Ireland companies and Plan Expo is an excellent opportunity for them to promote their products and win business.”
