Jun 23, 2009

Coleraine-based business turnaround consultancy Global Projects Partners LLP, an Invest Northern Ireland client company, has won a major contract with a German manufacturer of automotive components.

Global Projects is an expert in helping companies to maximise profitability through the design and delivery of business optimisation programmes, then effectively manage the implementation of such programmes.  The company worked with the German managers on an extensive and successful reorganisation of its engineering operations in addition to providing hands-on interim management services.

The German deal was announced by John French, a Director of Global Projects, and welcomed by Des Gartland, Manager of Invest NI’s North West Regional Office in Londonderry. Invest NI is helping the business in activities such as export marketing.

Mr French said: “Winning this business in Germany is an important strategic development that positions Global Projects in one of Europe’s most exacting and competitive markets.

“We were urged to approach the German company by a multinational consultancy, which has business links with this corporation. It followed the successful completion of a contract with a Northern Ireland manufacturing company that will result in annualised efficiency savings of over £7.5 million.

“Our client portfolio now includes major corporations and venture capital organisations which have been impressed by our ability to deliver business optimisation services that are geared to maximise profitability through expert and hands-on project implementation.

“This hands-on commitment to develop and, perhaps above all, implement projects that help companies become more successful is what sets us apart.

“Our expertise spans operations, multi-sector global outsourcing, efficiency improvements, project management and financial governance. Such skills enable us to develop and implement measures to transform the performance of an individual business,” he added.

Mr Gartland said: “We are particularly keen to encourage the growth in the North West of companies offering expert services with significant export potential. The team at Global Projects brings vast industrial experience gained over many decades working with companies across a broad range of industries.

“Global Projects has already developed an impressive portfolio of satisfied clients in manufacturing, engineering and service industries.  It has worked with leading London venture capital firms and management consultancies on a range of assignments, as well as with several smaller companies.”

Mr French added: “We are expecting significant interest to follow later this year following the implementation of Invest NI assisted marketing initiatives and the forthcoming launch of our new website .”
