Engage Creates Seven New Jobs in Invest NI Supported Expansion

Dec 01, 2014

With Invest Northern Ireland’s support, Belfast company Engage is creating seven new jobs, helping it to significantly increase its export sales over the next few years.

The web design and development agency, which was set up in 2012, currently employs 17 and has enjoyed sustained growth. It has secured a number of high profile customers and has developed important strategic relationships with complementary technology partners within the Republic of Ireland, the UK and across Europe.

The additional staff will enable the company to undertake new projects and to create new revenue streams in areas such as digital marketing, content and media production.

Invest NI has offered £49,000 of support through its Jobs Fund, which was created to help businesses quickly put staff in place to take advantage of market opportunities. Five of the seven new jobs are already in place.

George McKinney, Invest NI’s Director of Technology & Services, said: “Engage has identified opportunities for increasing sales in the UK and the Republic of Ireland and has taken advantage of our Jobs Fund to enable it to quickly recruit additional staff.

“In fact the company has benefitted from a range of Invest NI support since it was set up. This has included support for research and development, information systems, skills development and marketing. We also recently helped it to attend the GITEX exhibition in Dubai.”

Engage specialises in the delivery of website and web application development on the EPiServer CMS & Commerce Platform, an enterprise content and commerce product that is used on large scale e-commerce websites. Engage also offers user experience design, e-commerce and systems integration, mobile application development, .NET application development and digital strategy and marketing services.

Steven Cassin, Engaged Web’s Client Services Director, said: “Invest NI’s support over the last couple of years has been invaluable in helping us to quickly grow the business, and in particular to establish ourselves in export markets. We now sell over 80% of our services outside Northern Ireland.

“We’re targeting new opportunities throughout Great Britain, the Republic of Ireland and other export markets and need additional staff to deliver our services. Once again Invest NI has provided timely support to help us continue our growth journey.”
