Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster, has encouraged local businesses to take advantage of the wide range of support available at a ‘Focus on Finance’ seminar in Fermanagh.

The seminar is one in a series organised by Invest Northern Ireland for local businesses as part of its Boosting Business initiative.

Designed specifically for smaller companies and those who do not regularly deal with Invest NI, businesses were able to seek advice and guidance on cashflow planning and management, business planning and cost control, and raising finance.

Arlene Foster said: “We know that for many of our smaller local businesses, the greatest challenge they currently face is how to manage their finance and cashflow.

“In order to help put businesses on a better financial footing and to support them through the current downturn, Invest Northern Ireland have organised these workshops to help businesses cope. To date, over 400 individuals have registered a place at the various workshops across Northern Ireland.”

The Minister concluded: “Today’s seminar provided advice for local businesses on everything from ways to access funding for new projects to finding out about how to deal with serious financial issues. Following on from today, businesses can apply for further support and those that qualify will be able to access a one day diagnostic assessment and up to four days consultancy support.”
