Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster, MLA, today launched a series of seminars which Invest Northern Ireland is providing for local businesses as part of its Boosting Business initiative.
The “Focus on Finance” series will be held in six locations across Northern Ireland and will provide advice and guidance on cashflow planning and management, business planning and cost control, and raising finance. They will appeal to NI businesses wishing to address finance issues, especially smaller businesses and those who do not regularly deal with Invest NI.
Launching the series the Minister said “We know that for many of our smaller local businesses, the greatest challenge they currently face is how to manage their finance and cashflow.
“This series is designed to offer smaller businesses the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the key financial issues facing them at this time and each will provide advice and practical steps to help improve cashflow, manage payments and suppliers, recover debt and avoid insolvency, access funding for new projects and plan for the future.”
Each of the regional half-day seminars will consists of three interactive workshops, following which attendees will be how they can apply for an independent financial appraisal which may lead to up to four days support to put their business on a better financial footing and help them through the current downturn.
The Minister continued: “This series of seminars will be one of the first new initiatives delivered by Invest NI under the Boosting Business brand, which will become increasingly visible as more of the various initiatives and activities are put in place.
“Specific measures will cover the key themes of Jobs, R&D, Skills, Exports and Technology, and through which our local businesses can boost their competitiveness and restore their confidence.”
