Funding Brings Digital Media Dreams to Life

Local digital media companies are being called on to take advantage of £100,000 which has been made available through the latest Dreamlab Invest funding round.

Dreamlab Invest – which is supported by Invest Northern Ireland and co-ordinated by Dream Ireland - aims to stimulate development and innovation within digital media industries, whilst creating a sustainable network of creative individuals, companies and ideas which can be directed to national and international markets.

Commenting on Dreamlab Invest, Kieran Mannion, Head of Creative Industries, Invest NI said: “The creative digital media market is highly competitive, so it is essential for companies within this sector to create new, original products in order to maintain a strategic advantage and develop their business. Dreamlab Invest can help bring the dreams of digital media companies to life.”

Gary McCausland, Director, Dream Ireland added: “Dreamlab Invest’s key focus is to support the creation of original content using Digital Technologies primarily in Animation, Film and Broadcast, Music, Computer Games, Digital and Interactive Media. More than 25 projects across Northern Ireland are already benefiting from the first round of funding and support in 2003, and this second round of funding is directed at projects which can demonstrate originality and commercial potential.”

The Dreamlab Invest programme provides a unique package of financial assistance and business mentoring services to local companies which are at the early stage of developing commercial digital media products.
