Sep 24, 2004

In a £1.5 million expansion to its existing call centre operation in Bangor, MM Group is to establish a 24/7 customer relationship centre to service its clients such as Sony, Dunnes Stores and the UK Passport Service.

The Invest Northern Ireland backed venture was announced by Leslie Morrison, the Agency’s Chief Executive.

Commenting on the expansion Leslie Morrison said: “This investment will create a centre of excellence for customer relationship management and will use state-of-the-art technology to provide high quality customer interaction and support. It forms part of the company’s strategy to provide a tailored service to key international customers and will give it a vital competitive edge.

“This is one of Invest NI’s target sectors, and one which offers substantial growth potential. This new centre will add to Northern Ireland’s reputation as a first class place from which to support international business and will help attract other international companies in this sector.”

The Bangor centre is the biggest MM Group contact centre within its network of nationwide contact centres. The new customer relationship facility will be a multi-channel operation handling telephone, fax, web and e-mail communications. Staff in the centre will handle all aspects of customer service including sales, technical support and billing enquiries.

MM Group Chief Executive, Jeff Smith, commented: “For 24 hours a day, 365 days a year it is our job to represent and be the face and voice of some of the top brands in the world. Our experience is that we can recruit very high quality personnel in Northern Ireland and this is reflected in the excellent performance of our Bangor operation to date. This investment reflects our belief in the local workforce. We’re confident that this new centre will establish MM Group as a leader in the field of customer interaction and communication solutions.”

MM Group is one of the leading providers of customer communications in the UK. The company intends to recruit some of its new staff through the New Deal and Bridge to Employment programmes.
