Jun 21, 2013

Invest Northern Ireland 2012/13 performance results for the Limavady District Council area show that the agency offered over £450,000 of support to businesses in the area resulting in over £2.1 million of investment commitments and 68 new jobs promoted.

Des Gartland, Manager of Invest NI’s North West Regional Office said: “Invest NI is committed to securing investment across Northern Ireland and helping businesses to grow and become more competitive. Our performance results show that we have been able to secure over £2m of investment commitments that will benefit the Limavady area and offer much needed employment opportunities.

“It is particularly encouraging to see that Limavady performed 53 per cent above the NI average in terms of business start up activity.

“Moving forward, I hope that we can build on this performance working in partnership with all stakeholders. We are fully committed to ensuring that every region is positively portrayed and can maximise its success in securing investment projects.

“In addition to the above support, Invest NI and the European Regional Development Fund are supporting a number of Local Economic Development projects in the north west. These are managed by local councils and will ultimately see over £5.5m of funding being offered to develop programmes that will specifically address the needs of businesses in each council area and boost local economic development.”
