Invest NI Helps Company Export Success

May 31, 2006

A Belfast digital media and ICT company is expecting to double its turnover in just three years thanks to a £400,000 investment supported by Invest Northern Ireland.

EG Information Consulting’s core services are consultancy, training, bespoke software development and application management. The investment will allow it to expand, strengthen its management team and take a more proactive approach to marketing, specifically targeting Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.

The company plans to double its turnover in the next three years by increasing export sales and launching new products that have been developed with R&D assistance from Invest NI.

Donal Durkan, Invest NI’s Director of Creative and Design Industries, says: “EG Information Consulting’s commitment to quality, and its ability to tailor its services to the needs of its clients has brought it local success. It is now ready to extend its reach into export markets.

“With Invest NI’s support it is developing innovative products with intellectual property. This will be key to the company’s sustainable growth. It is also developing a marketing strategy that will help it to target sales and maximise export opportunities.”

The company has a strong portfolio of e-business products, including a highly successful service based scheduling solution, and has recently developed Repute, an e-business software solution that enables users to meet their legal requirements in relation to the monitoring of suspicious cash transactions that may be related to money laundering or fraud.

Another product currently being developed with R&D support from Invest NI is Flightdeck, a data warehousing product that allows organisations to pull data from various sources, combine and manipulate it.

Peter Shields, Managing Director of EG Information Consulting, says: “Our strategy is to grow our core outsourcing business and at the same time develop strong revenue streams from new products. Invest NI’s support has been essential in allowing us to gear up for this in terms of staffing, training, product development and management information systems.”

The company’s current clients include Bank of Ireland and Maybin Support Services NI Ltd and it’s export business is growing with new contracts secured in the UK, Poland and Germany.
