With support from Invest NI Deli Lites, a sandwich company based in Warrenpoint is planning a major re-investment, which is expected to create 12 new jobs. Currently employing 27 staff the company produces a wide range of gourmet standard sandwiches, wraps and salad snacks.
As part of the development project Deli Lites intends to expand its current product range and incorporate new production equipment to improve the company’s overall productivity, efficiency and quality.
With today’s consumer more health conscious than ever before Deli Lites also plans to invest in nutritional calculation software which will give their customers detailed information on the food value of all the company’s current product lines.
Welcoming the expansion Mark Bleakney, Regional Manager of Invest NI’s southern local office said:
“This is a significant step forward for Deli Lites and marks an important chapter in the company’s continued expansion. By concentrating on innovative product development and the purchase of new modern equipment I am confident that the business will continue to grow.”
Deli Lites has recently managed to secure a number of lucrative contracts North and South of Ireland. It is anticipated that the expansion will help to further stimulate businesses growth and lead to a 30% increase of the company’s export sales to the Republic of Ireland by 2007.
Commenting on the development project Brian Reid company Director of Deli Lites said:
“This re-investment project will allow us to diversify our existing product range, upgrade our current equipment and strengthen our marketing strategy. It will also lead to the creation of a number of new positions within the company and allow us to increase our presence in profitable export markets.
“We have grown rapidly from a small gourmet sandwich company set up in 1994 to a leading all-Ireland food supplier. With Invest NI’s support we fully intend to capitalise on our success and develop the company further,” he continued.
