Invest NI ‘Pops’ into the Abbey Centre

Jun 17, 2014
Building on the success of its three ‘pop up’ offices held so far across Northern Ireland, Invest Northern Ireland will be in the Abbey Centre, Newtownabbey on 24 – 26 June. The initiative aims to increase the agency’s engagement with local businesses.
The ‘pop up’ office is aimed at smaller businesses and will offer a series of expert half-hour workshops on topics such as finance, starting a business and accessing Invest NI support. It will also offer one-to-one meetings with Invest NI staff to discuss what support is available to businesses.
Bill Scott, Invest NI’s Executive Director, Regional Business said: “We are constantly looking for ways to effectively engage and reach out to local businesses to make them aware of the support and advice available. With over 100 people ‘popping in’ to our previous events there is an appetite for this type of initiative.
“It gives small local businesses the opportunity to avail of the expertise within Invest NI without having to go out of their way to make an appointment.”
The Abbey Centre office is part of a series, and other ‘pop up’ offices will be held throughout Northern Ireland in the coming months. The offices will be located in an easily accessible location within the local community.
Mr Scott continued: “This is a good opportunity for individuals to make an appointment to see an adviser, attend one of the informative workshops or just call in to the office. I would encourage anyone who has a business idea or an issue that they want to discuss to take advantage of the opportunity over the three days.”
The office will be open from 9am to 5pm each day. Full details of the programme can be found at
