Invest Northern Ireland Hosts European Aerospace Seminar

Nov 12, 2004

Invest Northern Ireland recently hosted a European Aerospace Seminar at the Holiday Inn, Belfast to promote the latest developments and opportunities available within this highly significant business sector.

Opened by Dr Paul Madden, Goodrich and current Chairman of the NI Aerospace Consortium, the seminar was specifically designed to give local aerospace companies a more detailed insight into issues facing the sector at a European level.

“This is an important event which will allow local companies to gain a deeper understanding of the strategic priorities for the aerospace industry and visibility of emerging technological developments.  By setting these within a European context we are also ensuring that local businesses are aware of and can respond to developments in the industry outside of the UK,” he said.

The conference addressed a number of important sectoral issues such as the latest developments within the aerospace industry, changes in the supply chain and the potential business opportunities available in the rest of Europe.

Michael Polson, Client Manager with Invest NI commented:

“In organising this seminar we are helping to increase the capability of an industry which has faced a number of challenges in recent years but continues to develop in terms of innovation and competitiveness.

“By focussing on Europe we are also ensuring that local businesses are made fully aware of the latest advances in the industry and the issues that will impact upon them both in the short and long-term.”
