Leslie Morrison, Chief Executive of Invest Northern Ireland officially opened the new premises of Boomer Industries Ltd in Lisburn today which will create approximately 13 new jobs, raising the total number of company employees to 53.
Set up in 1970 Boomer Industries Ltd manufactures an extensive range of plastic and PVC extrusion products for companies operating within the building industry.
Its new purpose built 30,000 sq ft facility at Knockmore Industrial Estate Lisburn will allow the company to develop its current capability as well as the export potential of its range of innovative products.
Boomer Industries Ltd is a strongly export focused company with approximately 70% of its output sold in Great Britain, 15% in Ireland and the remaining 15% to overseas markets including the Middle East and the United States.
Over recent years Invest Northern Ireland has provided a wide range of support and assistance for the locally based manufacturing company.
Speaking at the official opening Leslie Morrison said:
“This re-location represents an exciting stage in the development of Boomer Industries Ltd. By focusing on innovative product development the company is continuing to grow and increase its presence within new and profitable export markets that will ultimately benefit the Northern Ireland economy as a whole.”
Commenting on the re-location to new premises Andrew Robinson, Managing Director of Boomer Industries said:
“The new product ranges that we have recently introduced have made this move a necessity. It also marks a significant turning point in the continued development of our company in this its 35th year of trading and will allow us to increase our competitiveness.”
