Fifteen local companies are taking part in All-Energy – The Renewables Show at Aberdeen, which runs from 19-20 May, on an Invest Northern Ireland group stand.

The All-Energy UK Exhibition & Conference is Europe's largest event devoted to all forms of clean and renewable energy. The show and associated conference programme will focus on new technologies and business opportunities associated with the energy efficiency and renewable energy markets.

Participating companies cover a very broad range of technologies including large and small scale wind, biomass, and biogas.

Launched in 2001, the 2009 show attracted 5,500 visitors from over 60 countries, an increase in 17 per cent over the previous year’s exhibition. With over 380 exhibiting companies representing 14 nations, the exhibition enjoyed inward missions from 29 countries taking the international visitor numbers to nearly 10 per cent of total visitors.

Visitors to this year’s show include developers, power companies, planners, government representatives from home and overseas, journalists, academics and educationalists.

Tracy Meharg, Invest NI’s Managing Director of Innovation and Capability Development, commenting on the exhibition, said: “We are taking part again this year because our group stand at the 2009 event proved extremely effective in facilitating participating businesses to develop sales and for lead generation.

“In 2009, local companies secured orders in excess of £1 million with expressions of interest for an additional £10 million from contacts developed at the show.

“The exhibition enables local companies to keep abreast of global trends in the very dynamic alternative energy sector by taking part in the programme of conferences and workshops.

“The event will have over 400 exhibitors and will also feature delegations from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Egypt, Germany, India, Iraq, Japan, Russia and the US. It is particularly pertinent then that we will have the opportunity to profile the capability within Northern Ireland through the Power in the Regions presentation, forming part of the associated conference programme.”

All-Energy 2010 is being held in association with organisations including RenewableUK, Scottish Renewables Forum, UK Trade and Investment, Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group and under the patronage of The Society for Underwater Technology.
