Strabane design firm seeks export success

Mar 01, 2011

A new Strabane company, Blue Splat is investing over £27,000 to develop exports to the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain, with help from Invest Northern Ireland.

Blue Splat Limited is a graphic design company, established in March this year by Andy Sheen. Operating from Strabane Enterprise Park, Blue Splat offers individually tailored design solutions including graphic design, corporate identity and web design.

Invest NI offered £10,000 towards the recruitment of a web development manager, providing the company with enhanced capability and the potential to generate additional business outside Northern Ireland. This investment will help Andy to build on current connections, target new customers in GB and RoI and generate additional business to support further investment.

Mary Gormley, Manager of Invest NI’s Western Regional Office, commented: “Andy Sheen is a talented designer who is committed to building a successful company in Strabane. This investment is an important one as he seeks to grow his business. By developing the company’s web and management resources, Andy can enhance his competitive position and take advantage of emerging opportunities and larger scale projects.”

Andy Sheen, Managing Director of Blue Splat, commented: “The latest software and approaches are at the heart of our creative process and this investment provides Blue Splat with the ability to grow and develop. With additional specialist knowledge and technical ability we can offer a fuller design package to existing and potential new customers. This improved resource gained with Invest NI’s support will help Blue Splat build its client base across GB and RoI.”
