Telestack Ltd Announces Major Expansion With Support From Invest Northern Ireland

Tyrone-based materials handling company Telestack Ltd, has recently embarked upon a major £3.2 million expansion project with support from Invest Northern Ireland.

Leading developers of innovative conveyor systems used in the quarrying, mining and bulk materials handling industries the company, as part of its expansion, plans to move into a newly built 43,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Invest NI’s Doogary Industrial Estate in Omagh.

This will initially create an additional 32 jobs for Telestack Ltd, raising the total number of employees to 50, and also develop the company’s capability to service export markets in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and South America.

Commenting on the company’s expansion plans Managing Director Patsy Brogan said:

“This investment will facilitate the supply of specialist conveying solutions to our increasingly diverse customer base. Our current export development strategy of increasing our international sales infrastructure is running in tandem with this new investment project. The new facility will enable global supply of specialist conveying equipment to these new export markets. ”

Currently Telestack Ltd. provides a range of telescopic conveyors, tracked conveyors, mobile link conveyors, mobile reception hoppers and associated equipment to the quarrying, mining and bulk materials handling sectors.

With the planned expansion the company intends to develop new containerised transportable versions of its product range and increase its international client base.

Telestack Director, Eamon Tierney added “The new premises will enable us to streamline our production process and enable us to achieve certain economies of scale. It is a significant step in the companies evolution and is an integral part of the companies long term strategy for export and new product development”

Invest NI has offered the company approximately £618,000 worth of assistance towards the total project costs to include R&D and property assistance to develop the new manufacturing facility support of the project.

Welcoming the expansion Leslie Morrison, Chief Executive of Invest NI, said:

“This project will have a highly significant impact upon the growth and development of Telestack Ltd. allowing the company to improve its competitiveness and break into new export markets. It signals the next step in the company’s evolution and will solidify its continued success and strength in new and profitable markets outside of Northern Ireland.”
