Invest NI are planning a Trade Mission to Sweden and Denmark from 15 - 19 May 2017. The five day mission will focus on Stockholm and Copenhagen.
Companies from Northern Ireland already export £92.8m in goods and services to Sweden and Denmark and this trade mission represents an excellent opportunity for companies who are looking to expand into both countries.
Sweden is a wealthy, prosperous and developed country. According to IMF data it ranked 22nd for gross domestic product (GDP) globally whilst also being 7th with regard to GDP per capita, providing individuals with strong purchasing power. Additionally Sweden is one of the world leaders in investment into research and development (R&D) spending around 3% of GDP annually.
Sweden is the 11th easiest country in which to do business according to the World Bank Report 2015. English is widely used and Swedes are open-minded to new ideas and products.
Denmark has one of the more robust economies in the EU. It has a wealthy, educated and open economy. Danes are sophisticated buyers with a good reputation for paying suppliers on time.
Although small, it is also one of the most competitive economies in the world with an efficient workforce and highly developed infrastructure. Danish business is characterised by minimal bureaucracy, high education, robust purchasing power, ease of access and widespread use of the English language.
The World Bank’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ report ranks Denmark fourth in the world.

Companies who have exceeded their De Minimis aid limit will be unable to claim assistance towards travel, accommodation and in-market support for this mission. The maximum De Minimis aid any single recipient can receive is €200,000 (cash grant equivalent) over a 3 year fiscal period.
