Did you know that 17 million unique visitors log on to eBay each month?

That equates to one in two online buyers in the UK using eBay to buy a product. There are also over 200,000 businesses registered to sell on eBay UK.

Around 40% of eBay UK sales are being driven through its mobile app.

Another giant in the online market space is Amazon, which generated UK sales of £4.47bn in 2013, an increase of 12.6% on the previous year. Amazon is easy to use; businesses simply register as a seller and list an inventory of products.

Ecommerce opportunities

The opportunities for Northern Ireland businesses created by online marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay are huge. They are great places to learn about selling online, for relatively low cost and with minimal risk. Many businesses in Northern Ireland successfully sell large volumes of products through these online marketplaces.
