Foster Supports Local Firms to Develop Business Links in Dubai

Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster is in Dubai to support over 20 Northern Ireland companies to develop business links in the Gulf region.

The Minister is leading an Invest Northern Ireland trade mission where local businesses from the Aerospace and Defence sectors will exhibit at Dubai Airshow for the first time. The companies are participating in the exhibition to explore global supply chain and business development opportunities.

At the same time a number Northern Ireland food companies will attend Seafex, the Middle East and Africa Seafood Exhibition, to showcase their products to an international audience.

Arlene Foster said: “Dubai Airshow is an ideal opportunity for Northern Ireland Aerospace companies to promote their talents and expertise, and build new commercial relationships which have the potential to extend this sector’s global reach.

“Food and Aerospace are both high value industries in Northern Ireland’s economy. Major international events such as Seafex and Dubai Airshow provide an important platform to showcase our world class capabilities, knowhow and award winning products on a global stage.

“The Middle East represents a huge area of opportunity for local companies. My department and Invest Northern Ireland are fully committed to supporting Northern Ireland businesses as they seek contracts in this region and other global markets.”

Dubai has a growing Diaspora and Northern Irish Connections aims to build on this global network of people with Northern Irish roots by hosting a networking reception to coincide with these major events in the region.
