Invest NI Announces Departure of Terri Scott
Invest Northern Ireland has announced that Terri Scott, Managing Director of Clients and Entrepreneurship will be leaving the organisation at the end of the current financial year (31 March 2006) to take up the post of Chief Executive Officer of the Ryan Academy at Dublin City University.
Commenting on the announcement, Leslie Morrison, Chief Executive of Invest Northern Ireland said:
“I would like to acknowledge the immense contribution that she has made to Invest NI and the creative leadership she has shown. Terri’s energy, enthusiasm and commitment have been significant factors in the development of Invest NI’s organisational shape and focus. As a key driver of the Accelerating Entrepreneurship Strategy, Terri has also been a focal point in taking forward the successful efforts to stimulate a culture of enterprise and entrepreneurship.
“While I regret losing Terri from Invest Northern Ireland, I am delighted at her success in obtaining this appointment. I fully expect there will be many opportunities for collaboration in the future.”
Professor Terri Scott joined Invest Northern Ireland in June 2002 and following a restructuring in 2003 was appointed to the role of Managing Director, Clients Group and Entrepreneurship.
She was educated at the University of Ulster and Queens University Belfast and has held a number of visiting positions at universities abroad. Before joining Invest NI she was Head of the School of Computing at the University of Ulster from 1996-2000 and Dean of Regional Development from 2000-2002. She was appointed to a personal Chair (Professor of Technology Transfer) in 1999 and was named ‘IT Professional of the Year’ by the British Computer Society, in 2000.
As Terri Scott will remain fully committed to her current role and responsibilities until 31 March 2006, she will not be available for interview or making any public comment at this time.
