New Jobs at Allpipe Engineering as Company Expands Horizons
Londonderry company Allpipe Engineering Ltd has taken on nine staff to support its push to grow sales in the pharmaceutical and health food sectors.
The mechanical and electrical contracting business, which specialises in process and service piping fabrication, and mechanical and electrical installations, now employs 119 at its Maydown plant.
The new jobs were supported by Invest Northern Ireland, which offered a grant of £49,500.
Commenting on the investment, Liam Gallagher, Allpipe Engineering’s Managing Director, said: “We have gained traction in the pharmaceutical and health food processing sectors and have identified further opportunities in those markets. Therefore, we need to ensure we have the capacity and the skills in place to deliver against new contracts.
“This investment has enabled us to recruit a Quality Assurance Engineer, essential to maintain our reputation for quality and service, as well as eight skilled operatives.”
Allpipe Engineering, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, has carried out fabrication, installation and project management projects all around the world. This is the second expansion of its workforce in two years.
Kevin McCann, Invest NI’s Director of Advanced Engineering and Construction, welcomed the new jobs. He said: “Allpipe Engineering has built up a strong reputation as a world-class M & E company and has worked with some of the biggest global names, such as DuPont, Caterpillar, GlaxoSmithKline and BP.
“With Invest NI’s support the company has, over the last few years, expanded its services, increased its workforce and invested in skills and technology development. It is now targeting new sales and with our assistance has recruited nine new staff. That is good news for the company and for Londonderry.”
