Tyrone engineers invest over £50,000 towards business development

Axon Power & Control Ltd has invested over £50,000 towards business development with support from Invest Northern Ireland.

The Dungannon-based firm provides electrical engineering contracting services and control systems installations for customers across multiple sectors and industries.

Invest NI offered Axon over £19,000, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), towards the implementation of a new integrated management information system.

The project involved the installation of specialist design and product management software. This investment has enhanced Axon’s ability to monitor business activity and link product development, stock control and order processing functions more effectively.

Mary Gormley, Manager of Invest NI’s Western Regional Office, said: “This is an important investment for Axon as it seeks to improve business performance and eliminate unnecessary costs.

“This project has resulted in key information becoming more accurate and accessible, enabling the company to increase its profits by making more informed decisions on the pricing of projects. The benefits gained will help strengthen Axon’s competitive position as it looks for wider business opportunities in sectors beyond its traditional business areas.”

Plunkett McGeary, Managing Director of Axon Power and Control Ltd, said: “The introduction of our new software system has significantly improved the effectiveness of our day to day operations.

“This integrated approach offers enhanced visibility of information across all business functions, helping to make the organisation more efficient and profitable. These improvements will support business growth outside Northern Ireland and help us to gain access to potential opportunities within emerging sustainable energy markets.”

Axon recently travelled to a number of exhibitions in Europe to investigate the potential opportunities in renewable energy sectors.
