This is clearly evident here in Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area where we supported the second highest local company investment and the largest single job promotion project last year.
“The first accolade belongs to Almac Group which announced its plans in August 2014 to invest over £54 million and create 348 high quality jobs over the next five years. The largest single job promotion project last year was announced by international firm Moy Park which will create 628 new jobs over the next three to five years.
“During 2014/15, Invest NI offered over £25 million of support to businesses in Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, helping secure almost £306 million of investment in the area. Through working in partnership with local firms we have helped support them to expand, look to new markets, invest in skills training for their staff and undertake R&D to remain ahead of the competition. Whites Speedicook is among the local businesses that we helped to expand. The Tandragee based company announced it was creating 29 new jobs as part of significant expansion plan.
“In addition to helping secure 1,649 new jobs as part of future projects, Invest NI support has also resulted in 1,411 new jobs actually created in Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon during 2014/15.
“As well as this strong in-year performance, across the four years of this Programme for Government, Invest NI support has helped leverage £452 million of investment in the local economy and supported projects which will create over 3,500 new jobs.”
