Coleraine-based developer of software solutions, telatec is being assisted by Invest Northern Ireland to increase export sales particularly in the Republic of Ireland.

The company specialises in software for enterprises in areas such as time management, barcoding, labelling and data collection and is receiving support from Invest NI through its Growth Accelerator Programme (GAP).

Announcing the Invest NI assistance to telatec, which is based in the University of Ulster’s Science Research Park, Des Gartland, Invest NI’s North West Regional Office Manager, said: “Our support is geared to enable this ambitious and growing company to develop marketing activities for its range of highly innovative software solutions.

“GAP will enable telatec to strengthen its management team and to bring forward initiatives that will assist its growth in both the short and long term. This investment is in line with our strategic focus on entrepreneurial companies with innovative technology aimed at markets outside Northern Ireland.

“Innovation-led companies in key sectors such as information technology, have an important role to play in our drive to transform the North West economy into one driven by entrepreneurs with smart ideas who are determined to achieve faster growth through an engagement with international markets.”

Director of telatec, Eamonn Mulholland said: “We’ve identified a number of opportunities in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland for our existing products and expert services which we are keen to exploit as quickly as practicable.

“We have a base of customers in Northern Ireland which we are eager to expand in tandem with our developing focus on export opportunities.

“Invest NI’s backing will enable us to recruit an experienced project hardware support executive as part of a further development of our customer support services, and to develop an essential marketing campaign that will raise our profile in the Republic of Ireland.”

The company was formed by Eamonn Mulholland and Tony Goodwin in 2002 and has successfully developed and marketed bespoke software for the manufacturing, hospitality and insurance markets.
