Belfast software and consultancy company EVENTMAP has secured significant export contracts in the Middle East and Europe with support from Invest Northern Ireland.

EVENTMAP develops highly innovative software solutions, primarily for universities and higher education establishments, which allow resources to be managed and used more efficiently. The recent business has been secured with a number of prestigious universities including two in Finland and Switzerland.

Established in 2002, the Queen’s University spin out company initially accessed Research and Development support from Invest NI to support new product development and the refinement of key software products based on target market research and market trends. EVENTMAP has also recently benefitted from an offer of £40,000 from Invest NI which is helping to accelerate the company’s entry to key export markets and support employment growth.

Brian Dolaghan, Invest NI’s Director of Technology and Services said: “EVENTMAP has won important contracts in key global markets by spending time and resources on product development and market research. This has ensured that EVENTMAP’s highly innovative software offerings can fully meet the needs of the academic sector and provide a competitive position from which to grow the business in export markets moving forward.”

Dr. Barry McCollum, Managing Director of EVENTMAP, commented:  “The new business wins are the latest in a string of important new conquests for EVENTMAP in the Middle East and Europe. They underline how far ahead of the rest of the market our products now are in terms of combining leading-edge research with the requirements of universities to succeed in an increasingly challenging marketplace. With Invest NI support we are now in the process of expanding our workforce in key areas of marketing and software development.”
