Invest Northern Ireland is encouraging businesses in Armagh and Down to use innovation to make their businesses more successful and profitable with the first in a new series of business events.
Invest NI’s Innovate for Profit clinics will take place across Northern Ireland and aim to help local firms discover how innovation, research and development and Invest NI support, can drive business success. The first pilot event is taking place at Invest NI’s Southern Regional Office in Newry on Tuesday 17 October.
“Some businesses may think that innovation or research and development isn’t relevant to them but if you list companies which are succeeding regardless of their size or sector, you will find that creativity, design, innovation and R&D are the key factors that have made them market leaders rather than followers.”
“Poor return on investment, lack of in-house skills and difficulties in establishing partnerships are all perceived risks related to innovation, but the reality is that those businesses which embrace innovation grow faster and more sustainably. The Innovate for Profit clinics will address these issues and help businesses to evolve by taking their first steps into research and development.”
The Innovate for Profit clinics will introduce innovation, design and R&D to local companies by highlighting areas such as patents and intellectual property, knowledge transfer and partnerships with colleges and universities. Invest NI experts will be on hand to provide advice and guidance on specific support programmes and initiatives.
Places are limited and there has already been significant interest so companies are encouraged to guarantee a place by booking now at www.investni.com/registration or by contacting the Invest NI Southern Regional Office on 028 3026 2955.
