A Coalisland company that specialises in bespoke mattresses and bedding products is aiming to double its turnover in an expansion supported by Invest Northern Ireland.
Comfizone is creating nine new jobs and undertaking extensive marketing activity to grow its export sales across Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.
Invest Northern Ireland has offered Comfizone £60,125 of support towards this investment.
Commenting on the investment, Peter Bradley, director and co-founder of Comfizone, said: “This is an exciting step for us, which will see our workforce almost triple. Since the company was set up four years ago we’ve achieved significant year-on-year growth.
“Over the last 12 months we’ve invested significantly in expanding our premises at Washingbay as well as investing in new machinery. This investment has enabled us to increase production capacity to meet the rising demand for our products.
“We are now embarking on a marketing campaign to extend our export reach and in particular target hotels and care homes. That will involve developing our brand, creating a website and marketing literature, and attending relevant trade shows.
“The nine new jobs, which include a production manager, production supervisor, logistics co-ordinator, office administrator and five production operatives, will give us the capacity and structure to handle a bigger order book.”
The company already supplies a number of well known high street retailers and has identified new market opportunities for its mattresses.
Grainne McVeigh, Invest NI’s Director of Life Sciences, Electronics and Consumer Products, said: “This recent investment demonstrates that Comfizone’s management is committed to the development and expansion of the business.
“The company has identified a strong market opportunity for its high quality products throughout the UK and Ireland, and with Invest NI’s support is moving to capture a bigger share of the market through sustained and targeted promotional activities. It’s attendance at trade shows and website development will help the company gain new customers and increase brand awareness.
“The directors have set ambitious sales targets for the next two years and aim to increase sales outside Northern Ireland to 65% of the total.”
Comfizone was established by Peter Bradley and Anthony McCuskey and began trading in 2010. It currently employs five staff.
