During 2014/15, Invest Northern Ireland support has delivered £25 million of investment by businesses within the Fermanagh & Omagh District Council area, an increase of 42 per cent compared to last year.
As a result of this investment, 429 new jobs will be created in the coming years by businesses in the area.
Commenting on the results, Patricia Devine, Invest NI’s Western Regional Manager said: “As well as helping secure 429 new jobs which will be created over the next few years, 377 jobs were actually created this year as a result of our support.
“To help support companies to drive growth and productivity, Invest NI offered over £4 million of assistance to companies in the Fermanagh & Omagh District Council area.
“Companies such as Enniskillen packaging company Webtech NI Ltd announced an £11million investment and the promotion of 35 new jobs. With Invest NI support this significant investment will underpin Webtech’s goal of increasing sales by £10million over the next four years, focusing on export growth in Europe and North Africa.
“New investor Lakeland Trading also announced it was setting up a contact centre in Enniskillen creating 49 jobs over the next three years.”
During 2014/15 Invest NI also offered £3.8million of Research & Development support to companies and secured over £1million of investment in skills development, up over 200 per cent on 2013/14.
“At the end of the Programme for Government period Invest NI has helped secure almost £91m of investment by companies in the area and 1,688 jobs have been promoted. 1,315 new jobs have been created in Fermanagh & Omagh District Council during this period”, added Patricia.
