Invest NI today welcomed US technology firm Cayan’s reinvestment in Northern Ireland.
Since establishing its technology development operation here in 2013, Cayan has seen steady growth over the past four years and expects its overall headcount in Northern Ireland to rise to 240 people by 2019.
Building on the success of its Northern Ireland engineering division, Cayan has established a new Merchant Services Support function at its Belfast based City Quay’s offices, which will create 170 customer services roles. The roles on offer include Client Services Representatives, Team Leaders and Case Managers.
Speaking following a meeting with Cayan’s Chief Technology Officer Paul Vienneau, Invest NI’s Executive Director of Business & Sector Development Jeremy Fitch said: “Since opening its Northern Ireland office in 2013, Cayan has grown into an exemplary software development operation, producing industry leading payment processing products.

“The 170 jobs being created through this investment will generate over £3.2million in annual salaries for the local economy and offer valuable employment opportunities for a range of job seekers including school leavers and graduates. Furthermore, the extensive training Cayan offers new staff will contribute to the development of Northern Ireland’s skills base.”
Invest NI has offered Cayan £680,000 in employment grant support to establish its new customer services function in Northern Ireland. The roles on offer include Client Services Representatives, Team Leaders and Case Managers.
Recruitment for the 170 jobs is well underway with just over 100 of the roles already in place.
