Leslie Morrison, Chief Executive of Invest Northern Ireland officially opened the new premises of Newry based company J K Fabrications Ltd yesterday.

With the help of Invest NI the company has re-located to Carnbane Business Park to accommodate its continued expansion. The new site will allow J K Fabrications Ltd, which manufactures and installs a wide rage of stainless steel products, to increase its current production capability and focus on R&D.

Invest NI has assisted the company to explore new market opportunities, expand the management team, develop efficient operating systems and increase the skills base within the company.

Congratulating the company on the re-location Leslie Morrison said: “This move represents an exciting time for the development of J K Fabrications Ltd. It will allow the business to concentrate more fully on innovative product development that will help increase its overall competitiveness and lead to many new export opportunities.”

The company is already seeing the benefits of the relocation; employment has increased from 17 to 25 in the last 12 months and further business opportunities are being developed in the ROI and UK markets.

Commenting on the expansion of his business John King, managing director of J K Fabrications Ltd said:

“We have already established a strong reputation in the stainless steel fabrication market and this is a natural progression as we continue to expand and diversify. The new premises will allow us to both strengthen our current position and launch ourselves into even more lucrative areas of business.”

Leslie Morrison also visited two other companies namely Uni-trunk Ltd, a cable management specialist and Glen Electric a leading manufacturer of heating appliances as part of a quick tour of highly successful local businesses operating within the southern region of Northern Ireland.
