Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster has announced an £11million investment by Enniskillen packaging company Webtech NI Ltd that is expected to create 35 jobs.

Webtech specialises in the production of labels for the European soft drinks industry and is the largest supplier of flexographic reel-fed labels to the United Kingdom and Ireland. It has a number of high profile customers including Coca-Cola, Schweppes, Nestle and all the major supermarkets. The company intends to increase its processing capacity and further build export sales through the investment.

Announcing the investment the Minister said: “Webtech NI is a local company that has built up an international reputation based on delivering the highest standard of quality and service from its state-of-the-art production facility. The company has provided high quality sustainable manufacturing jobs in Enniskillen for many years, growing in size as it penetrated the Great Britain and European markets.

“This significant investment will underpin Webtech’s goal of increasing sales by £10million over the next four years, focusing on export growth in Europe and North Africa. It reflects the company’s commitment to Fermanagh and its excellent standing in the international marketplace.

“The new jobs will pay salaries well above the Northern Ireland private sector median and the new equipment will ensure that Webtech has the capacity and technology to retain its position as market leader.”

Webtech prints over four billion individual labels a year. The investment will see the company increase this capacity through the purchase of two new printing presses, three slitters and other equipment related to ink flow and calibration over the next three years. It is also investing in a marketing campaign to develop its European sales of flexible labels.

Invest Northern Ireland has offered £767,000 of support for the investment.

Webtech’s Managing Director Nigel McSorley, said: “Our factory has the most advanced flexographic printing presses in the world and our aim is to become the European supplier of choice for flexible labelling.

“This investment enables us not only to expand capacity but to continue to innovate, and explore new technologies and materials so that we can respond quickly to changing customer requirements.”

Webtech currently employs 120 people at its premises in Killyhevlin Industrial Estate, Enniskillen.
