First Minister Rt. Hon. Peter D. Robinson MLA and Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster today welcomed the launch of a new assembly line at FG Wilson’s Larne plant.

Visiting the company’s factory at the launch of the new assembly line, Mr Robinson said: “FG Wilson is a company with a global reputation for quality products, efficient work processes and strong international sales. Its journey through the difficult business environment of the last few years is a testament to the strength and resilience of our manufacturing sector.

“This investment is good news for our manufacturing sector and for the local economy. With more than 3000 people located in three sites across Northern Ireland, FG Wilson is a major employer that has established itself as a global leader in engineering. This substantial investment in cutting-edge production equipment will help it to safeguard the business and underpin future growth.”

The First Minister was joined at the official launch by Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster and Gerard Vittecoq, Group President of the Caterpillar Group, FG Wilson’s parent company.

Arlene Foster said: “FG Wilson’s investment in this new line will help it to achieve efficiencies that will enhance its competitiveness in the global marketplace.
