Dublin based IT managed services company Qualcom has confirmed it is to set up an office in Northern Ireland, creating 12 new highly skilled, knowledge based posts with support from Invest Northern Ireland.
Qualcom provides IT infrastructure services to more than 200 customers based in the UK, Republic of Ireland and Europe. Its managed and professional IT services include managed security, virtualisation, disaster recovery, communications and data storage and back up.
The new Belfast operation will deliver highly technical support to customers and new positions being recruited are in the areas of engineering, professional services, IT consulting and sales and marketing. Invest NI has offered £90,000 of support to secure the project.

In identifying a need to expand the business at a second location in RoI, GB and NI, they engaged with Invest NI and discovered the positive and proactive business environment here was a perfect match for their business needs.
“The new jobs will be highly skilled, highly paid, knowledge based positions at the cutting edge of IT managed services which will deliver an important salaries boost to the region of almost £400,000 annually.”
