Strong Invest NI 2012/13 Performance in Strabane

Invest Northern Ireland 2012/13 performance results for the Strabane District Council Area show that £7.5 million of investment was secured, promoting over 160 jobs.

Mary Gormley, Manager of Invest NI’s western regional office said: “This is a strong performance by Invest NI in the Strabane District Council Area. The £7.5 million of investment commitments promoting 161 new jobs, were secured with £1.8m of Invest NI support.

“It is important to understand that Invest NI cannot direct investment to specific council areas but we are fully committed to working in partnership with local stakeholders to ensure that every region is positively portrayed and can maximise its success in securing investment projects.

“In addition to the above support, Invest NI and the European Regional Development Fund, are supporting a number of Local Economic Development projects across the western region. These are managed by local councils and are resulting in programmes that will specifically address the needs of businesses in each council area and boost local economic development.”
